Huntington, WV – The Toledo swimming and diving team finished day one of the Marshall Invitational and currently sit in third place with 103 points. Ohio University is currently leading with 157 points, and host Marshall sits in second with 151.

Toledo claimed victories in two of the 10 matches this evening. Samantha Richart placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.53. Tonight marks Richart's eighth consecutive meet with a victory in the 100 breast. Jessica Avery came in fourth with a time of 1:07.05.

Brooke Edwards claimed the second Rocket victory in the 200-yard freestyle. Edwards touched at 1:53.01, while Lauren Comer finished in a close second with a time of 1:53.13.

Edwards also placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, recording a 24.43.

Jamie Schindler notched a season-high 286.42 points in the one-meter dive, which landed her in third place.

The Rockets return to action tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. for day two of the Marshall Invite.
