Toledo Finishes Fifth in Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, KY - Freshman Athena Welsh crossed the line in 27th place to lead the Rockets to a fifth place finish in the Greater Louisville Invitational on Saturday.
Welsh ran the 5k course in 17:36.20 to claim the top spot for the Rockets. Junior Joan Jepkirui placed 37th in a time of 17:43.90 as the second UT runner to finish.
Junior Maja Pacaric and sophomore Jennifer Lichter were not far behind, finishing in 45th and 50th place, respectively. Pacaric crossed in 17:51.40 while Lichter took 17:53.90.
Junior Stephanie Barlow (62nd place) rounded out the Rocket scoring in 17:59.30.
The cross country teams will run again in two weeks at the adidas Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, IN on Oct. 15.
