Toledo Dominating Field Following Day One of Rocket Classic

PORT CLINTON, OH – Toledo holds a commanding 26-stroke advantage over Ohio following Monday's first two rounds of the Rocket Classic at the par-72, 5,931-yard Catawba Island Club. The two-time defending champion Rockets shot a 13-over par 589 (300-289) with its one-over 289 in the second round just two strokes shy of the Rockets' school record.

UT's senior trio of Manisa Isavas, Sathika Ruenreong and Morgan Salm are tied for first place at two-over par 146. Isavas earned Rocket Classic medalist honors in 2013 with Ruenreong capturing a three-hole playoff to win the title last year.

Ruenreong tied for the best round in the opening 18 holes at two-over par 74, while Isavas and Salm each recorded a one-under 71 in the second round. Ohio's Nicole Smiley is four strokes behind in fourth place at six-over par 150 (74-76).

Two more Rockets, freshmen Natcha Daengpiem and Pimchanok Kawil are also in the tournament's Top 10. Daengpiem, who is competing as an individual, is tied for fifth place at seven-over par 151 (75-76) with Pimchanok Kawil in ninth place at eight-over par 152 (76-76).

Freshman Catriona Griffin is in 15^th place at 11-over par 155 (80-76), sophomore Napaphan Phongpaiboon is tied for 20^th place at 14-over par 158 (80-78) and redshirt freshman Hannah Kochendoerfer is tied for 38^th place at 20-over par 164 (78-86).

Tomorrow's final round begins with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
