Rockets Suffer First Loss of Season to DePaul

TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo women's tennis team was unable to keep it's momentum going, falling to 2-1 on the season following a 6-1 loss to DePaul on Saturday at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
The Rockets started out the match on a strong note, winning two of three doubles matchups to score the doubles point.
Senior Pia Rygh and sophomore Lauren Thai teamed up to earn a 6-1 victory in the top singles spot before DePaul won the second doubles matchup.
The No. 3 doubles spot was a battle, going into a tiebreak, as senior Lexy Pitt and junior Emily Mazzola came out on top to give the Rockets the first point of the match.
Mazzola and Pitt are now 3-0 on the season after Friday's critical victory.
In singles play, the Midnight Blue & Gold ran out of steam, falling in straight sets in each singles matchup.
Junior Katelyn Nguyen, Pitt and Thai each earned their first loss of the season.
The Rockets look to get back on the right track on Saturday when they welcome West Virginia to the Glass City.
The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. at Shadow Valley at Central.
