Toledo Set to Face Ohio State on Tuesday

TOLEDO, OH - The Rockets will wrap up their season opening homestand with a matchup against the Ohio State on Tuesday evening at Scott Park. The match will be carried live on BCSN with kickoff slated for 5:05 p.m.
The match will be Toledo's third in a five day stretch as it comes off a 1-1 weekend, including a 1-0 win over Xavier.
The Rockets opened their weekend with a 1-0 loss to Pittsburgh despite outshooting the Panthers by nine shots, 17-8, and holding a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Toledo fired three shots on goal in the first five minutes of play and its best chance to even the score came on the foot of forward Bethany Thomas, but a diving save by the Pitt keeper kept the Rockets at bay.
The constant pressure from the UT offense culminated on Sunday vs. Xavier as redshirt freshman Isa Echeverri flicked in a header off a free kick from junior Geri Siudzinski. The Rockets played keep away to perfection in the final 10 minutes of play to improve to 2-1-1 on the season.
The blanking was Toledo's second in their last three matches and junior keeper Sam Tiongson has posted a 0.62 goals-against average so far this season.
The Buckeyes enter tomorrow's match on a two-game losing streak after dropping contests to No. 4 North Carolina in Chapel Hill and at home against No. 5 Virginia Tech. Ohio State's lone win of the season came in it's home opener over No. 18 Duke.
Junior forward Michela Paradiso, sister of current Toledo freshman Chiara Paradiso, leads the Buckeyes offensive attack in 2014 with three points, registering a goal and an assist.
Redshirt freshman keeper Megan Gledemick has played every minute between the posts for the Buckeyes and has corralled 22 saves with a 1.33 goals-against average.
Ohio State holds a 2-1-0 record against Toledo overall. The lone win for the Rockets in the series came in 1996 at Toledo's Carter Field. The match on Tuesday will be the first time since that game that OSU has visited the glass city.
