
Rockets Control Tigers and Extend Win Streak to Three

GALESBURG, IL - Toledo (10-5) opened its three-match weekend with a win, sweeping Western Illinois (5-7) 7-0 at the Lakeside Tennis Center on Friday. From start to finish the Tigers were no match for the Rockets, as UT extended their win streak to three in a row.
Sophomores Tomas Stillman and Nicholas Wong led the way beating senior Patrick Hammers and junior Ben Yue 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles match of the day. Grant Adams/Francisco Stuardo and Bryant Dudzik/Ryan Jorgensen would follow suit overcoming their opponents 8-4 and 8-3, respectively.
Continuing the success from doubles, the singles competition proved to be fruitful for the Rockets as well. Stillman would clinch the No. 1 slot once again grinding out a 6-2, 7-5 win against Hammers. Grant finished right behind with a final tally of 6-1, 6-1 over freshman Bradley Holt. Stuardo (6-3,6-1), Wong (6-3,6-2), Terence Weigand (6-3, 6-1), and Dudzik (6-1, 6-4) would each collect a point from their matches as well to clinch the overall win for Toledo.
The Rockets rest up for a moment and hit the courts again to challenge Bradley University (4-2) this evening at 6:30 pm and again tomorrow, Saturday, February 16 at 5:00 pm against DePaul University (2-4).
