FREMONT, OH - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team won four events on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Tom Stubbs Relays. The meet was hosted by Bowling Green, but held at Fremont High School because of renovations at the BG Rec Center.
UT recorded its first win in the 3x100 yard backstroke relay as senior Rachel Johnson, junior Maria Bargardi and sophomore Lauren Comer teamed up to post a time of 2:52.22, edging out BGSU's A relay team by almost four seconds. The time set a meet record for the Rockets.
Bargardi was also a part of two other relay wins, in both the 400-yard medley relay and another meet record-setting time in the 4x100 yard individual medley relay. The Rockets finished first and second in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay as Johnson and sophomores Kristen Nunnelly and Mary Dombkowski defeated the Rocket B relay team comprised of junior Melissa Auckley, sophomore Anna Weisman and freshman Rachael Hester.
The team opens the regular season with their first dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 12 against Denison.
