Toledo, OH - The Toledo men's tennis team was topped in its second-to-last Mid-American Conference dual match on Saturday, April 4 against Northern Illinois. The Huskies won over UT by a count of 5-2.
The Rockets (15-10, 1-3 MAC) were swept in the doubles matches, and managed to pick up wins in singles matches 1 and 6. Tomas Stillman defeated NIU's Dor Amir in the first singles spot in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Bryant Dudzik won 6-3, 6-2 in No. 6 singles over Phillips.
"This was a real nail biter," said head coach Al Wermer. "For us to start four freshmen and fight like this on the road against a team that man-handled our last two MAC Champions, it shows our improvement and potential. In terms of match toughness, we're gaining lot of mojo at the right time of year."
Toledo will play its final conference matchup of the regular season at home against Western Michigan on Sunday, April 22.
