TOLEDO - Head Coach Matt Campbell announced today that Brad Dunavant, a junior college punter out of Trinity Valley Community College, has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Rockets. Dunavant will have sophomore eligibility next fall.
"We are very happy to add Brad to our 2012 recruiting class," said Campbell, who was named UT's head coach on Dec. 12. "We feel he is a punter who can come in and help our team right away.
This past season at Trinity Valley, Dunavant averaged 38.9 yards per punt. He played his high school football at Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, TX.
Today is the first day that junior-college athletes who graduate in December are allowed to sign with Division I schools. Dunavant will enroll in classes in January and be eligible to participate in spring practices. He is expected to be the only recruit that Toledo will sign during the early signing period. The remainder of Toledo's 2012 football recruiting class cannot sign until the regular signing period on Feb. 1.
