Rocket Freshman Robert Bell Helps Lead U.S. to Championship at IFAF Junior World Championships

TOLEDO - University of Toledo incoming freshman Robert Bell was one of 45 players on the USA team that won the inaugural International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Junior World Championship of American Football in Canton, OH. The U.S. team defeated Canada, 41-3, in the gold-medal game on Sunday before 15,473 fans at Fawcett Stadium.

Bell, a linebacker from East Grand Rapids (MI) High School, was one of the leading tacklers on the U.S. defense that shut out Mexico and France in early-round action. The field goal by Canada in the championship game was the only point allowed by the Americans in the tournament.
