TOLEDO, OH ? Toledo volleyball Head Coach Kent Miller announced today that Greg Reitz has been promoted to associate head coach. Reitz has served as an assistant coach for the program for the past four seasons.
"Greg is an important part of our program and he is very deserving of this promotion," Miller said. "He is an extremely hard worker and involved in all aspects of what we do as far as on-floor coaching, recruiting, academics, scouting and travel."
During his tenure, Reitz has helped the Rockets reach the conference semifinals in two straight seasons (2005, 2006) for the only time in the program's 28-year history. He previously served as a graduate assistant for UT in the 1999-2000 academic year.
"I'm very happy to be part of this program and it's nice to be recognized for the work that I've done," Reitz said.
A native of Huntington Beach, CA, Reitz spent two years (2002-03) as an assistant coach at UTEP before returning to Toledo. Prior to his stint at UTEP, Reitz served two years (2000-01) as head women's volleyball coach and strength and conditioning coach for St. Joseph's College, an NCAA Division II school in Rensselaer, IN.
Reitz, 33, graduated from Long Beach State in 1997 with a degree in kinesiology and then received his master's degree in exercise science from UT in May 2000.
