Toledo Finishes 11th at Kepler Intercollegiate

Dublin, OH - Toledo registered an 11th-place finish today in the final round of the 2006 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The event hosted by Ohio State University was contested at the Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72, 7,159 yards), site of Jack Nicklaus' annual Memorial Tournament.
Northwestern (298-284-296=878) was the team champion, overtaking Indiana (286-292-304=882) to win the title. Xavier, Marshall and Purdue rounded out the Top 5. Northwestern's second round 284 was the best of the tournament.
Kyle Moore of Northwestern and Seth Brandon of Indiana decided medalist honors with a playoff. Each shot 215 for the 54-hole tournament. Moore was declared the winner with a par on No. 2 to win the event.
Toledo posted a team score of 922 and was led by senior Richard Kilpatrick who tied for 11th place with an eight-over par 224 (73-76-75). Sophomore Ciaran McAleavey tied for 20th place with an 11-over par 227 (74-74-79) and junior Tyler Riley tied for 37th place with a 16-over par 232 (79-75-78). Sophomore Renaud Langevin tied for 69th place at 244 (80-85-79), and sophomore Justin Hull finished in 73rd place at 247 (82-80-85).
The event, which is normally held on The OSU Scarlet Course, is in its 36th year. The tournament was moved this year while renovations are completed to the Scarlet Course.
Toledo returns to action next weekend with a visit to East Lansing, MI for the Fossum/Taylor Made Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 22-23. Robert Kepler Intercollegiate
