Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo swimming and diving finish the weekend 1-1 losing a nail-bitter to Ohio 151-149. The Rockets were ahead one point going into the second to last event.
Pulling out four victories each were Leah Woodard and Makenzie Manard. Both received two victories a part of the 4 x 50 medley relay and 4 x 100 freestyle relay. Woodard also won the 100 freestyle and the 50 freestyle. Manard won the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly by three tenths of a second.
Impressing Coach Lars Jorgensen was senior captain Lindsay Tubbs. "Lindsay had some gutsy performances today," said Jorgensen. "She did want she needed to do to get us some points here and there."
Also winning events for the Rockets were Brie Henning in the 200 freestyle (1:54.91) and Megan McKinley in the one meter and three meter dives.
"I am pleased with how we swan today," said Jorgensen. "We suffered a very disappointing loss to Ohio today. One thing we need to work on is winning close meets like this one, but the women's effort was outstanding today."
The Rockets are home again next Saturday against 2005-06 MAC Champions Eastern Michigan at 1 PM.
