Toledo Swimming and Diving Team Falls at Ball State

Muncie, IN - The University of Toledo swimming and diving team lost its second Mid-American Conference meet in a row on Friday evening, falling at Ball State 167-133, The Rockets fall to 5-4-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the MAC with the loss.
Ashley Tremblay continued her outstanding season for the Rockets in a losing cause, winning both the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 58.90 and 2:06.90, respectively.
Many other Rockets contributed with first place finishes, as well. UT swept the top two spots the 100 and 200 freestyle, as Leah Woodard continued her impressive run in the 100, winning with a time of 53.04, while her teammate Brie Henning finished second with a time of 53.26.
Henning came in first in the 200 freestyle (1:53.78) , with Amanda Breen coming in second (1:55.07). Breen, who has had three close second place finishes in the last two meets, finally broke through in the 200 breaststroke, winning with a time of 2:25.05.
Also in the winner's cirle was Makenzie Manard, winning the 200 butterfly (2:07.52) and Megan McKinley in the 1-meter dive (253.80).
Ball State swept the relay events, sealing the victory for the Cardinals (6-3, 4-2).
"We didn't step up to the challenge tonight," Head Coach Lars Jorgensen said. "We're going to have to be better the rest of the season. Ashley Tremblay was a highlight for us, but overall I'm disappointed with how we came out tonight."
The Rockets return to action in their home dual meet finale next Saturday, Feb. 4 as they host Akron at 1 P.M.
