Toledo at Ohio
Nov. 4, 2005
Athens, OH - Peden Stadium

With tonight's win on ESPN2, Toledo evens its record on national TV to 1-1 this season. In its other national TV appearance of 2005, UT lost at Fresno State, 44-14, also on ESPN2 on Sept. 27. This was the second of four regular-season appearances for UT this season. Toledo is now 14-12 all time on national TV and 9-8 under Head Coach Tom Amstutz.

Senior RB Trinity Dawson carried the ball 28 times for a career-high 167 yards. He also caught three passes for 43 yards and a pair of TD's. Dawson is fifth in school history with 35 career TD's and needs just one to move into a fourth-place tie with Roland Moss (36, 1966-68). It is Dawson's fourth career 100-yard rushing effort of the season and 12th of his career.

As a team, Toledo rushed the ball for 293 yards on 44 carries, good for 6.7 yards per carry. The 293 yards is two shy of equaling its season-best total of 295 vs. Eastern Michigan on Sept. 7. They also finished with 529 yards of total offense, their second-best total of 2005. They had 612 vs. Western Michigan on Aug. 10.

Senior PK Jason Robbins tied his career high with three field goals and is a perfect 10-for-10 on the season. Robbins ranks first in school history with an 81.4 % (35-of-43) FG percentage ahead of Tony Lee (78.4%, 1980-83). Robbins also cracked the top five in career field goal attempts and ranks fifth with 43 attempts passing David Ridgeway (41, 1977-80).

Toledo's defense surrendered two TD's and a season-high 14 points in the opening quarter. Entering tonight's contest, the defense had allowed only one offensive TD through the first eight games.

Junior WR Steve Odom had a season high nine catches for 107 yards and moved into a fifth-place tie with Carl Ford (149, 1999-2002) on UT career receptions list with 149 catches. Odom's previous best was seven catches for 74 yards at Central Michigan last week

Senior QB Bruce Gradkowski completed 22-for-31 for 236 yards and two touchdowns, including 200 yards in the first half alone. It was the second time this season, he surpassed 200 yard in the opening 30 minutes. He had 277 in the opening half vs. Western Michigan on Sept. 10.

Sophomore WR David Washington made his first collegiate start and finished with one catch for 27 yards.
