Toledo falls at Duquesne in Non-Conference Action, 4-3

PITTSBURGH, PA - The University of Toledo women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Duquesne on Friday afternoon in the Oxford Athletic Club.
With the loss, the Rockets snap their two-game winning streak and fall to 2-3 on the season, while the victory improves the Dukes to a perfect 8-0.
The Rockets started the match out strong capturing two of the three doubles matches from the Dukes, with sophomore Myriam Cueva and junior Eunice Paravicini teaming up to win the No. 1 singles match, 8-3, over Katie Riedinger and Jacqueline Hughes. UT senior Jen Meister, along with sophomore Daniella Moran also defeated Julie Wagner Alina Klinova, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles.
"Our doubles continue to be the strong point in our matches," Toledo Head Coach Tracy Honko said. "I also see improvement in singles, and we are looking forward to building on that in the near future."
In singles action, Cueva continued her solid play at the top of the lineup claiming an impressive 6-0, 6-1 victory over Klinova. The only other Rocket victory occurred at No. 6 singles, as freshman Claire Smalley ousted Wagner, 7-5, 6-3.
Toledo returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when the Rockets travel to Indianapolis, IN to battle Butler. The match is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
