Toledo Splits in Tri-Meet with Xavier and Akron

TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo women's swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet with Akron and Xavier on Friday night at the UT Recreation Center. The Rockets defeated the Musketeers, 200-93, and lost to the Zips, 173-127.
Junior Iiris Hilvo led the Rockets with victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.83), 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.15) and the 200-yard IM (2:09.37). Hilvo's times in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke were season bests.
Other first-place finishers for Toledo included junior Emily Markovich in the 100-yard freestyle (53.43), freshman Jenna Perry in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:38.26) and classmate Sara Stech in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.13).
The Rockets would also take second-place finishes from junior Samantha Keevey in the 100-yard breaststoke (1:07.90) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.72), freshman Makenzie Manard in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.61), sophomore Jennifer Patterson in the 100-yard backstroke (59.92) and Markovich in the 50-yard freestyle (24.84).
The Rockets return to the pool tomorrow when they wrap-up their home schedule hosting Buffalo on "Senior Day" starting at noon.
