Swimming & Diving: Rocket Women Split Against Akron and Miami

Oxford, OH - The University of Toledo women's swimming and diving team defeated Akron, 164-134, but lost to Miami, 188-112, this afternoon at MU's Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. With the split Toledo goes to 3-4 in the dual meet season.
Leading the Rockets individually was sophomore Jessica Henning, who recorded two first-place finishes. Henning notched first-place finishes in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.34 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.08.
Pacing the Rockets with one first-place finish was senior Sheona Lottering, junior Samantha Keevey and sophomore Emily Markovich. Lottering claimed first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.50, while Keevey registered first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:23.74. Rounding out UT's first-place finishers was Markovich, who finished first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.41.
The Rockets will resume action on Friday, Nov. 15 as UT hosts Oakland University at the Student Recreation Center. Action is slated for 6:00 pm.
