Akron, OH - The University of Toledo women's tennis team completed a 7-0 sweep of the Akron Zips in Akron, OH today. The Rockets took four-of-six singles matches in straight sets and won both doubles matches in convincing fashion to improve to 7-11 on the season.
"This was a big win for us," said UT graduate assistant Laura Segrera. "It was a total team effort and our first 7-0 win of the season. Although it's at the end of the season, we're steadily improving and getting ready for the MAC Championships."
Today's win marks the first Mid-American Conference victory of the season for UT. The Rockets also surpassed last season's win total of six. Toledo looks for its second MAC win in Buffalo, NY tomorrow. The Rockets and Bulls play at 1:00 p.m.
