Women Swimmers Split Home Opener (Nov. 5)

The University of Toledo women's swimming team hosted MAC rivals Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan at the UT Student Recreation Center Pool on Friday, November 5. The Rockets defeated the Falcons 175-123, but fell to the Eagles 157-143.
Toledo's Crystal Covey (Springfield, MO - Glendale) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.79. Covey placed second in the 200 breaststroke and was a member of Toledo's 200 Medley Relay that finished second.
Another Rocket that walked away with a win was freshman Sheona Lottering (Pietermaritzburg, S. Africa - Linpark). Lottering won the 100 free with a time of 52.72. Lottering placed second in the 200 free and fourth in the 100 fly.
The Rocket 200 Free Relay team took a first-place finish with a time of 1:37.35. The team was composed of Yvette Victor (Brits, S. Africa - Brits), Kaitlin Gardner (Bloomsberg, PA - Central Columbia), Lottering and Amy Kleck (Napoleon, OH - Napoleon).
The women's next meet is November 12 at home against the University of Illinois at Chicago. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
