University of Toledo Athletics

Associate athletic communications director Steve Easton joined the University of Toledo’s athletic communications staff in 1999.

Easton currently serves as the department’s primary publicity contact for the men’s basketball as well as men’s and women’s golf programs and has also worked directly with the baseball, softball and  women’s volleyball programs during his Toledo tenure.

Prior to joining the Rockets, Easton served as assistant sports information director for seven years (1992-99) at Northern Michigan University where he worked with the Wildcats’ NCAA Division I ice hockey program and two-time NCAA Division II national champion volleyball squad.

A 1991 graduate of Bowling Green  State University with a degree in sport management, Easton began his career with a pair of  internships with the Buffalo Bisons’ Triple A baseball team (1991) and the Michigan State University SID office (1991-92).

Easton grew up in Walworth, N.Y. where he attended Wayne Central High School. He and his wife Goldie have two sons, Justin and Jordan.
