Kaylea Ellis joined the Toledo Athletics staff in May 2025 as the Assistant Director of Marketing.

In her current role, Ellis serves as the primary contact for marketing efforst for men's basketball, soccer, and softball, while also overseeing the department's marketing internship program.

Prior to joining the Rockets, Ellis spent three years at Ohio University Athletics in a variety of roles. She began as the Marketing & Ticket Sales Graduate Assistant in May 2022, supporting volleyball, women’s basketball, and baseball. In June of 2023, Ellis assumed the position of Marketing Coordinator before being elevated to Director of Marketing & Fan Experience in August 2023.

As Director of Marketing & Fan Experience at Ohio, Ellis led game-day presentation, in-venue production, and strategic marketing campaigns across all 16 varsity sports. She served as the primary fan experience contact for football and men’s basketball, developing initiatives to enhance the game-day atmosphere and drive fan engagement.

A graduate of Ohio University, Ellis was a member of the Ohio University Dance Team. She also gained professional experience through marketing internships with the Florence Freedom (now the Florence Y'alls) and the Cincinnati Bengals.

A native of Liberty Township, Ohio, Ellis graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University in 2021 with a degree in Sports Management. She went on to earn a dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Sport Administration from Ohio in 2023.
