Mia Cheatwood was named the assistant women's swimming & diving coach in May of 2026.

Cheatwood joins the Rockets after a four-year swimming career at West Virginia (2022-24) and Louisville (2024-26). Throughout her time as a student-athlete, Cheatwood competed in three NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships and earned All-American honors with the Cardinals in 2025 and 2026. She also scored in the 200 breaststroke in the 2026 NCAA Championships, ranking 10^th in the nation.

Cheatwood ranks second in Louisville history in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.40) and third in the 100 breaststroke (58.59). As a Mountaineer, she broke the program records for both the 100 breaststroke (59.73) and 200 breaststroke (2:09.13).

Cheatwood participated in the USA Olympic Trials and was a World Trials qualifier in 2024 and 2025. She is also involved in USA Swimming, both as a participant and a coach.

A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Cheatwood earned her bachelor's degree in public health from Louisville.
