Meghan Thornburg

Meghan Thornburg was named Toledo's Director of Operations on June 22, 2022.

Thornburg comes to Toledo after having previously worked with the basketball programs at Incarnate Word, UNC Wilmington, Central Michigan, and Purdue.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Meghan’s experience joining our staff,” Cullop said. “Everyone Meghan has worked with previously had incredible things to say about her work ethic, time management skills, and professionalism. She also knows our league well having worked at Central Michigan in the past. Our staff was extremely impressed with her during the interview process.”

Thornburg’s last career stop was at Incarnate Word, where she was the Director of Operations for the 2021-22 season. Prior to that she had been an administrative assistant for the women’s basketball program at UNC Wilmington. Thornburg was the DOBO at Central Michigan for the 2019-20 season, where she served as the Chippewas’ Director of Operations. In her role she organized all team travel and oversaw basketball camps, team gear, film, and special events.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to join Coach Cullop and this great staff,” Thornburg said. “I’m excited to be a part of a community that loves women’s basketball. I am eager to hit the ground running and continue to build upon this championship culture that Coach Cullop has fostered.”

Prior to her stint in Mount Pleasant, Thornburg spent seven seasons working with the women’s basketball program at Purdue. She spent five seasons as the head student manager for the Boilermakers, helping facilitate team practices and working in conjunction with the Director of Operations and Director of Game Management in many day-to-day aspects of the program. After earning her bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management in 2017, Thornburg went on to receive a master’s degree in sports and recreation management from Purdue in 2019. As a graduate student on the women’s basketball staff she assisted with scheduling student managers, summer camps and fundraising, team travel, and game film.
