Former University of Toledo tight end AJ Harrison is in his first season as the Rockets’ director of recruiting. He previously served for one year as a recruiting assistant, contributing to the effort that earned Toledo the No. 1 recruiting class in the Mid-American Conference in 2024 and 2025, according to 247 Sports. The Rockets’ 2024 recruiting class had a rating of 180.43, which ranked 62nd in the nation and was the highest ever in the MAC since 247Sports began ranking classes in 1999.
Harrison played for Toledo from 2019-21, appearing in 22 games as a reserve tight end. He joined the team as a walk-on in the fall of 2019.
A Toledo native, Harrison attended Springfield High School, where he was a two-time All-NLL and all-district selection at safety. He earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Toledo.
