Adam Barta currently serves in the role of Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine and Head Football Athletic Tainer at the University of Toledo. Barta joined the University of Toledo sports medicine team in 2016 as an assistant athletic trainer and was promoted to head football athletic trainer in 2017.
Before coming to Toledo, Barta spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the University of Arkansas football program.
A native of Tomah, Wis., Barta began his career as an athletic training student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 2007-12 and worked as an athletic training intern for the Seattle Seahawks in the summers of 2010 and 2011. He continued his work with the Seahawks as a seasonal athletic trainer from 2012-14. Barta earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of  Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2012 and his master’s degree in sports management from Arkansas in 2016.
Barta is a member of the College Athletic Trainers Society and the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is certified in FMS, SFMA, Graston Technique, Blood Flow Restriction, and specializes in emergency management protocols and procedures.
Barta and his wife Kristy have a daughter, Aubrey (6), and two sons, Myles (4), and Hayes (2).
