Toledo Athletics Branding

Toledo Athletics builds champions in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. As the Rockets continue to shine on the national stage maintaining a consistent brand remains important. We have created the branding guidelines to ensure proper use of our marks and images as we continue to build upon the strength of the Toledo Athletic Department Brand. On this page you will find examples of correct logo use as well as the branding guidelines and logos ready for download. Click on any image and click download on the next page to download the logo.

Primary Athletic Logo
The primary athletic logo is to be used for all Toledo logo needs.
- The two color primary logo is to be used on white or light color backgrounds.
- The athletic gold and white primary logo is to be used on all midnight blue or dark color backgrounds.
- The midnight blue and white primary logo is to be used on all athletic gold backgrounds.
- The all white primary logo is to be used on all black backgrounds.
Logos are not to be stretched, distorted, rotated, discolored, or textured at any time.
Secondary Athletic Logo
The secondary athletic logo is to be used when the primary logo has already been used.
- The midnight blue secondary logo is to be used on all white or athletic gold backgrounds.
- The athletic gold secondary logo is to be used on all midnight blue or dark color backgrounds.
Logos are not to be stretched, distorted, rotated, discolored, or textured at any time.

Sub-Branding
The logos below are examples of approved sport specific marks. They may be used with the full athletic logo or secondary rocket logo.
The Tag (E.G. “BASKETBALL”) may not be altered.

Alternate Identities
The following marks represent internal groups and initiatives within Toledo Athletics. They are not to be used in place of the primary logo.

Vaulted & Prohibited Logos
The following logos are either vaulted or prohibited. They will not be permitted on any marketing materials. Vaulted logos may appear on spirit wear with the permission of university licensing.

Trademark and Licensing
The University of Toledo trademarks and logos are recognizable to alumni, fans and students everywhere. That's why it's so important to protect these marks and images by licensing their proper usage.
Protect
Control, provide consistency and establish parameters for usage of trademarks and image.
Promote
Increase public and institutional awareness of The University of Toledo.
Profit
Generate revenue through the sale of officially licensed merchandise that provide funds for the operational success of the university.
The University holds trademark licenses with a wide range of companies — large and small, local and national. This includes Champion, Under Armour, Nike (Our offical apparel provider), advertising specialty companies, and local stores near campus.
