  • Toledo is now 12-8 in bowl games and 2-0 in the Boca Raton Bowl. The Rockets also won the 2015 Boca Raton Bowl, defeating Temple, 32-17, which was also the last time Toledo won a bowl game.
  • This is only the second time and the first time since 2001 that Toledo has won the MAC Championship Game and a bowl game in the same year.
  • Toledo (9-5) finishes the season with nine wins, its most victories since gaining 11 wins in 2017.
  • Toledo’s defense held Liberty to 253 yards of total offense, the Flames' season low, including just 91 yards in the first half. The Rockets also limited Liberty to a season-low two third-down conversions (2-8).
  • Sophomore quarterback Dequan Finn completed 16-of-24 passing for 133 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for one TD. Finn was named the game's Offensive Player of the Game.
  • Finn was helped off the field following an injury late in the first quarter, but returned to the game after missing one series. Redshirt freshman Tucker Gleason completed 2-of-4 passes for 50 yards while spelling Finn.
  • Finn’s top targets were Jerjuan Newton (five receptions, 42 yards) and DeMeer Blankumsee (four receptions, 42 yards).
  • Newton finishes his season with 53 receptions, the most by a Rocket since Diontae Johnson in 2017 (74).
  • Defensive end Nate Givhan was named the game's Defensive Player of the Game. He had a key strip sack in the third quarter that led directly to a Toledo field goal.
  • Thomas Cluckey was named Special Teams Player of the Game. He connected on field goals of 29 and 41 yards.
  • Jacquez Stuart led all rushers with 111 yards on 23 carries, including 53 rushing yards on the final drive of the game. It was Stuart’s third 100-yard rushing game of the season.
  • Redshirt freshman Lenny Kuhl caught a four-yard TD pass in the third quarter, his third TD on just six receptions this season.
  • Toledo attempted its first two-point conversion of the season, converting on a shovel pass from Finn to Stuart to make the score 21-7 in the fourth quarter.
  • Toledo was 10-17 on third downs, including 4-of-5 in the fourth quarter.
  • The Rockets possessed the ball for 40:03 of game time, their highest time of possession in a game this season.
  • Dallas Gant recorded three tackles to bring his season total to a team-high 116, the most in a season since Junior Sylvestre (118) in 2013.
