Toledo vs. EMU, Oct. 29, 2022
  • The win was Toledo’s sixth of the season, marking the 13th straight season of bowl eligibility for the football program. The Rockets have reached bowl eligibility every season since 2010.
  • Jason Candle won his 51st game as Toledo’s head coach, moving him into sole possession of third place on Toledo’s all-time list. Gary Pinkel is Toledo’s all-time leader with 73 wins from 1991-2000.
  • Toledo’s defense held EMU to 217 yards of total offense, including just 96 yards on 38 plays in the first half.
  • Redshirt freshman Tucker Gleason got his first collegiate start at quarterback in place of sophomore Dequan Finn, who sat out the game with an injury. Gleason connected on 15-of-27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Sophomore Luke Pawlak made his debut at placekicker, connecting on field goals of 27 and 44 yards and making all three of his extra points. He also punted late in the game, a 19-yarder that trapped EMU at its own 12-yard line.
  • Junior Mikel Barkley caught a career-high six passes for 79 yards and one TD.
  • Sophomore safety Maxen Hook tied a career-high with 13 tackles and nabbed the first interception of his career, a game-clincher late in the fourth quarter.
  • Senior linebacker Dyontae Johnson had 10 tackles and a sack on Saturday, his third game with at least 10 tackles this season.
