Toledo Post Game Notes
Toledo vs. BGSU - Nov. 4, 2020
  • Three points was the fewest allowed by a Rocket defense against an FBS opponent since Oct. 8, 2005 when they held Eastern Michigan to three points as well. It was also the fewest allowed to the Falcons since Nov. 15, 1986 when Toledo won 22-3.
  • Toledo’s defense forced two fumbles and had two interceptions.
  • The Rockets’ defense stifled the Falcons early, forcing three 3-and-outs, a fumble, and an interception on BGSU’s first five drives of the game.
  • Sophomore Nate Bauer and senior Nate Givhan both recorded their first career interceptions tonight.
  • Eli Peters completed 20-of-32 passes for 214 yards and a career-high four touchdowns to eight different receivers.
  • Senior Bryant Koback added 74 yards on the ground and caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. He now has 2,178 rushing yards for his career, passing Neil Trotter (1987-90, 2,168) to move into 17th on Toledo’s all-time career rushing list.
  • Sophomore Jerjuan Newton caught his first career touchdown pass in the first quarter.
  • Senior cornerback Samuel Womack broke up three passes. A year ago, Womack was second in the nation with 15 pass breakups.
  • Wednesday’s game marked the fourth time a Jason Candle-coached team held an opponent to fewer than 10 points (Sept. 10, 2016 vs. Maine; Sept. 1, 2018 vs. VMI; Sept. 14, 2019 vs. Murray State).
  • The victory gives Toledo a 41-40-4 lead in the Battle of I-75. Toledo has won 10 of the last 11 meetings and has owned the Battle of I-75 trophy every year but once (2019) since its inception in 2011.
