Post-Game Notes-NIU Game

  • With the loss, Toledo (3-3 MAC) fell into a tie for fourth place with Northern Illinois in the MAC West Division. Western Michigan (5-2) leads the division, followed by Central Michigan (4-2) and Ball State (3-2). Toledo holds the tie-breaker over WMU and plays CMU in the season finale on Nov. 29.
  • Junior Eli Peters started his third game of the season, completing 26-of-38 passes for 300 yards and three TDs. The 26 pass completions marked a career high for Peters.
  • Junior Shakif Seymour started at running back, his first start of the season and ninth of his career. Seymour led the Rockets with 133 yards rushing, his second consecutive 100-yard game and fifth of his career.
  • Junior Bryce Mitchell caught two TD passes for the first time in his career. He also tallied a career-high 125 receiving yards, the second 100-yard receiving game of his career.
  • Redshirt freshman Devin Maddox caught his third touchdown pass of the season, a four-yard grab in the first quarter.
  • Sophomore defensive end Jamal Hines set a career high with eight tackles. He now has 47 tackles on the season, the most among Toledo down linemen.
  • Freshman cornerback Chris McDonald was credited with two pass breakups, giving him 10 for the season.
