Toledo Post Game Notes
  • Toledo improved its record to 63-27 in Homecoming games. The Rockets are 8-5 in Homecoming games played vs. Western Michigan.
  • Sophomore RB Bryant Koback rushed for 177 yards on 21 carries, the second time this season and the fourth time in his career he has cracked the 100-yard mark.
  • Toledo rushed for 275 yards as a team, its third straight game with at least 200 yards on the ground.
  • Junior WR Bryce Mitchell caught four passes for a career-high 119 yards and one touchdown. He entered the game ranked 10th in the nation in yards per catch (22.4).
  • Toledo held WMU QB Jon Wassink to 25-of-51 passing (49.0%), well below his average of 63.1% entering today’s contest.
  • Toledo held WMU to just 164 yards in the first half while gaining 341.
  • The Rockets held Western to 117 yards rushing on 29 attempts. LeVante Bellamy, who entered the game leading the MAC with 559 yards rushing, was held to 70 yards on 13 carries.
  • Redshirt freshman Devin Maddox caught a season-high three passes.
  • Junior Samuel Womack broke up three passes, giving him 11 for the season. He entered the game as nation’s leader in passes defended per game (2.25).
  • Sophomore linebacker Saeed Holt tied his career high with 12 tackles and added 1.5 sacks.
  • Senior defensive tackle Nate Childress blocked a field-goal attempt in the second quarter and knocked down two pass attempts.
  • As a team, Toledo broke up 12 passes.
  • Freshman placekicker Evan Davis made 1-of-2 field goals. He missed a 43-yard attempt on the final play of the first half, his first miss of the season. He is now 7-of-8 on the season.
  • Toledo honored the 1969 MAC Championship team during a break in the first quarter. It is the 50th anniversary of that team that went 11-0, the first of three straight undefeated Rocket teams that went 35-0 from 1969 through 1971. The Rockets also wore vintage throwback uniforms from the 1969 season in their honor.
