Western Michigan Post-Game Notes

  • With the win over Western Michigan, Toledo improves to 43-30 all-time against the Broncos.
  • The 51 points are the most UT has scored against WMU since a 66-63 win on Nov. 8, 2011. The Rockets have now scored at least 50 points four times this season, the first time since 2011 they have achieved that feat.
  • Jameson Vest was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and has now successfully converted 68 field goals in his career. He moved into a tie with Rusty Hanna (1989-92) for the most made field goals in Toledo history. Vest made kicks of 25, 28, and 45 yards.
  • Toledo averaged a season-best 7.9 yards per rush. Bryant Koback led the way on the ground with 99 yards on 10 attempts and a touchdown.
  • The Rockets did not allow a sack for the second time this season (Oct. 6 vs. Bowling Green).
  • Eli Peters and Mitchell Guadagni combined for 247 passing yards and five touchdowns on 18 completions. Peters tied a career high with three TD passes.
  • Cody Thompson caught six passes for 63 yards and three touchdowns, his second game with at least three receiving touchdowns this season (Sept. 22 vs. Nevada).
  • Toledo scored on eight straight drives: two straight touchdowns were followed by three consecutive field goals, then three more TDs.
  • The Rockets’ offensive generated eight plays of at least 20 yards (four rushing, four receiving), the most of any game this season.
  • In the third quarter, Reggie Gilliam tipped a punt that ended up going just 16 yards. Gilliam has now gotten his hands on four kicks this season: two blocks and two tipped punts.
  • The defense had five sacks for the game, giving it 10 sacks over the last two contests.
