Post-Game Notes vs. Buffalo

  • The Toledo defense grabbed three interceptions, its most in a game since Sept. 26, 2015 against Arkansas State.
  • Toledo’s 13 tackles for loss are its most since the 2016 season, when UT registered 11 TFL against both Maine (Sept. 10) and Fresno State (Sept. 17). Eleven Rockets were credited with at least 0.5 TFL.
  • The five sacks are the most in a game for Toledo since Sept. 17, 2016 against Fresno State. Entering Saturday’s game, Buffalo’s offensive line had only allowed one sack in its previous seven games.
  • Willie Ross tallied 2.5 sacks on Saturday, the second time this season a Rocket has had multiple sacks (Tuzar Skipper last Saturday at Eastern Michigan).
  • The Rockets recorded their longest rush and longest reception in today’s game. Bryant Koback’s 70-yard rushing touchdown is now the longest running play of the year and Diontae Johnson’s 80-yard touchdown reception from Eli Peters is UT’s longest pass play.
  • Jameson Vest made his only field goal attempt of the day, a 38-yarder in the second quarter. He has now made 65 field goals in his career and is three shy of the UT record held by Rusty Hanna (68 from 1989-92).
  • Jordan Fisher finished with a career-high 12 tackles.
  • Bailey Flint’s 58-yard punt in the second quarter is a career long, and he also pinned two punts inside the 20-yard line.
  • Senior wide receiver Cody Thompson's streak of consecutive games with at least one reception was snapped at 36.
