- Toledo won its eighth MAC Tournament Championship title (1991, '92, '95, '96, '97eight , '99, 2001, '17), and first since 2001.
- Toledo’s last appearance in the MAC Tournament Championship Game was in 2010. The Rockets lost to Bowling Green in the finals, 62-53.
- The victory over NIU sends Toledo to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001. It also will be Tricia Cullop’s first NCAA appearance in her 17 years as a head coach. She has been to the 'Big Dance' seven times as a player at Purdue and an assistant coach at Radford and Xavier.
- The Rockets have now won eight straight games.
- Toledo’s 25 wins is the most since the 2012-13 squad won a school-record tying 29 games, and tied for the fifth-most in school history.
- Sophomore Mikaela Boyd was named tournament MVP. She averaged 14.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in Toledo’s three wins in Cleveland, including a career-high 27 points and 14 boards in the championship game.
- Boyd was joined on the all-tournament team by freshman guard Mariella Santucci.
- Sophomore Kaayla McIntyre blocked a school-tourney record six shots and pulled down a career-high 11 caroms. Yolanda Richardson also swatted six shots vs. Kent State in the 2010 tourney semifinals on March 12. It also tied for the fourth most in a game in UT annals.
- Sophomore Olivia Cunningham tallied a season-high 20 points in only 25 minutes off the bench. Cunningham's previous-best effort was 14 points against UIC on Dec. 1, 2016.
- The Rockets trailed 49-48 at the end of the third period, but they outscored the Huskies, 34-22, to tally the 82-71 neutral-court victory. UT shot a scorching 75.0% (9-of-12) from the field and 84.2 percent (16-of-19) from the charity stripe in the final 10 minutes.
