Post-Game Notes
- Toledo is now 10-2, 7-1 in MAC play. It is the ninth time in UT history that a Rocket team has won at least 10 games in a season, most recently a 10-2 mark in 2015. Toledo has won at least nine games in six of the last seven years.
- This is Toledo’s 11th MAC West title and first outright division title since 1998.
- Toledo will play East Division champion Akron (7-5, 6-2 MAC) in the MAC Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 2 at noon (ESPN).
- Toledo defeated Akron earlier this season, a 48-21 win at the Glass Bowl on Oct. 21.
- Toledo moves to 42-30 all-time vs. Western Michigan.
- Toledo outgained WMU in total yards, 455-275. WMU had just 98 yards of offense at halftime.
- Logan Woodside threw for 300 yards, bringing his UT career record total to 10,083, becoming the first Toledo QB to throw for over 10,000 career yards.
- Terry Swanson’s 94 rushing yards gives him 3,377 for his career and moves him into fifth place on the UT’s all-time list ahead of David Fluellen (3,336 from 2010-13).
- Senior cornerback Trevon Mathis broke up a career-high three passes.
- Leading tacklers for the Rockets were Tyler Taafe and Ja’Wuan Woodley, who each had nine tackles.
- Toledo honored its 23 seniors before the game. The senior class has compiled a 38-12 record over the past four years.
