- Toledo improves to 11-9 all-time against Akron after Saturday’s win. The Rockets are now 6-1 on the year and are now bowl eligible.
- Logan Woodside threw five touchdown passes, the fourth time in his career he has had at least five touchdown passes, the most in school history.
- Woodside also recorded the 14th 300-yard passing game of his career. He finished with 304 passing yards.
- Terry Swanson finished with 123 rushing yards, his 11th 100-yard rushing game of his career. He is now tied with Roland Moss, Jalen Parmele and Adonis Thomas for seventh place on Toledo’s all-time list.
- Kahlil Robinson finished with a team-high nine tackles, a new career-high total.
- The Toledo defense held Akron to just 42 rushing yards, the third straight game an opponent has rushed for fewer than 100 yards against the Rockets.
- Woodside completed eight passes of at least 20 yards, the most in a game by the Rockets this season. Jon’Vea Johnson caught four of those passes while Jordan Fisher, Diontae Johnson, Desmond Phillips, and Shakif Seymour each caught one.
- A season-high ten different players caught a pass in today’s game.
- Woodside tossed three touchdown passes in the first quarter against the Zips, the first time a Toledo quarterback has done that since Phillip Ely on Oct. 17, 2015 against Eastern Michigan.
- Desmond Phillips recorded his first career touchdown reception in the first quarter, a 40-yard catch.
- Today was the first time this season that the Rockets recovered a fumble and forced an interception in the same game. Olasunkanmi Adeniyi forced a fumble that was recovered by Ja’Wuan Woodley and Justin Clark intercepted his second pass of the year.
- Jameson Vest made two of his three field-goal attempts, only missing a 55-yarder at the end of the first half. This was Vest’s fifth game this season with at least two field goals.
- Former Rocket and current Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was at the game. Hunt, a rookie who is leading the NFL in rushing, received a framed photo honoring his selection as No. 7 on Toledo's All-Century Team, which was announced last month. UT President Sharon Gaber and vice president and athletic director Mike O'Brien presented Hunt with the honor during a break in the first quarter.
