Rocket senior placed 10th against loaded field at John McNichols Invitational
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior Joad Martinho was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday morning. It is the second time in Martinho's career that he has received the honor.
A native of Aulnay-sous-Bois, France, Martinho placed 10th against a loaded field at Indiana State's John McNichols Invitational, running 23:58.4 in the 8K against a field of 14 nationally-ranked teams. He finished just six seconds out of sixth place.
Martinho's performance helped the Rockets finish 16th with 357 points, ahead of No. 23 Air Force and No. 26 Louisville and just four points behind No. 20 Georgia.
Toledo is idle this weekend and will return to competition on Friday, Oct. 2 at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational.
