Rockets Receive Program-Best Rankings in Great Lakes Region Preseason Polls

Women ranked No. 2 to tie 2011 squad, with men's team garner No. 6 ranking
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's cross country team is ranked second, and the men's program is sixth in the Great Lakes Preseason Regional Rankings released today by the United States U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Rockets' No. 2 ranking in the women's poll tied UT's 2011 squad for the best pre-season ranking in program history. Toledo trailed only Notre Dame with Michigan State, Wisconsin and Indiana appearing in the Top Five. UT finished third in the NCAA Great Lakes Region meet last November.
Toledo was also the highest ranked Mid-American Conference program in the men's poll with its best preseason ranking ever. The Rockets trailed only Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Butler, Michigan State and Michigan. UT registered a program-record seventh-place showing at the NCAA Great Lakes Region meet last fall.
Toledo will open its men's and women's seasons at Michigan State's Spartan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 11 in East Lansing, Mich.
