Rockets and Bulldogs tip off on Nov. 2 in first all-time meeting
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball program will host Louisiana Tech to open the 2026-27 season in the MAC-SBC Challenge on Nov. 2 in Savage Arena, the leagues announced on Thursday.
The Rockets and Lady Techsters will face off in the first of two contests in the MAC-SBC Challenge for 2026-27. The Mid-American Conference's 12 women's basketball program institutions will host 12 Sun Belt programs in the Nov. 2 meetings. Conversely, each of the 12 MAC men's programs will travel to Sun Belt institutions.
Toledo will later travel to a Sun Belt opponent for a Feb. 6 matchup. Matchups will be determined in January based on real-time NET rankings.
Toledo is 5-1 all-time in the MAC-SBC Challenge, which enters its fourth year. The Rockets have defeated James Madison, ULM, Marshall, Old Dominion and Southern Miss in the series.
The two teams are meeting for the first time. The Rockets are coming off a 17-15 season, where they reached the MAC Tournament championship game as a No. 6 seed. The Bulldogs, newcomers to the SBC, went 26-7 and won the Conference USA regular season title with a 17-1 conference mark last season. LA Tech then reached the conference tournament title game and played in the WBIT in the postseason.
Game time for the Nov. 2 contest is TBA. A full 2026-27 non-conference schedule will be available at a later date.
