TOLEDO, Ohio – Four members of the Toledo cross country and track & field programs have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Hannah Ielfield, Karina James, Sibonelo Khumalo and Peter McMahon earned the honor, the organization announced on Tuesday.
This marks the first time that all four Rockets have earned Academic All-District accolades.
In addition to having at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, qualifying student-athletes must have at least a sophomore or higher academic standing and a top-50 regional TFRRS ranking or a top-50 finish in a regional meet.
Ielfield earned a 15th-place finish in the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Great Lakes Regional Championship, bringing home All-Region honors, in addition to ranking 36th in the country in the 3000m steeplechase during outdoor track & field season. James finished the NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a 13th place finish to earn All-Region honors.
On the men's side, Khumalo placed 30th in the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Great Lakes Regional Championship while McMahon followed behind in 39th.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
