Rockets Finish Road Schedule at Buffalo, Western Michigan

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team finishes up its road slate in the 2025-26 regular season against Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 28 and at Western Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 4. Tipoff against the Bulls will be at 4:30 and against the Broncos will be at 7:00, both on ESPN+.

The Rockets (14-12, 8-7 MAC) fell to Central Michigan, 68-64 at home on Wednesday night, after a late rally by the Chippewas. Junior Ella Weaver led with 16 points and knocked down three triples, while Kendall Carruthers and Patricia Anumgba each supplied 12 points. The Rockets will clinch a spot in the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Saturday with either a win over Buffalo, or a loss by Eastern Michigan to Northern Illinois.

The Bulls (2-25, 0-15 MAC) fell to Western Michigan, 58-43 at home on Wednesday. Saturday will be the Bulls' Senior Day.

The Broncos (9-17, 5-10 MAC) will play UMass on Saturday before Wednesday's matchup with the Rockets in Kalamazoo. WMU is two games behind Kent State for the final MAC Tournament spot.

Opening Tips

Toledo will play back-to-back road games for the fifth time this season and fourth time in MAC play. Last road trip, the Rockets picked up a 60-52 victory over third-place UMass but fell to Bowling Green.
UT can clinch a fifth-straight MAC Tournament appearance on Saturday with a win or an Eastern Michigan loss.
The Rockets will look to sweep both Buffalo and Western Michigan, having defeated UB, 79-46 on Dec. 31 and WMU, 59-46 on Jan. 10.
The Rockets' defense has held seven MAC opponents under 55 points this season, and are 7-0 in such instances.
Toledo comes into the week as one of the top rebounding teams in the league, out-rebounding 20 of its 26 opponents thus far, including in nine of its last 10.
UT has out-rebounded opponents by 10-or-more 13 times this season.
Kendall Carruthers leads the Rockets on the scoresheet with 11.8 points per game. She has scored at least 10 points in 16 games this season, including each of her last four outings.
Graduate student Patricia Anumgba has now been in double figures 12 times. This includes six 20-point games in MAC play.
Junior Ella Weaver led with 16 points against CMU, the fourth time she has reached 15+ points this season. She has also played a significant role in rebounding from the guard position, with a career-high 10 rebounds against Ohio (Feb. 10) and nine more against Bowling Green (Feb. 21).
Toledo is 32nd in Division I in attendance, averaging 4,020 fans per home game. Toledo has one more home game scheduled on March 7 vs. Ball State.
UT is two wins away from reaching 500 conference wins in program history, and would be the first MAC school to reach the mark.

Toledo is third in scoring defense, allowing just 63.0 points/game. This includes allowing just 60.0 points/game to conference opponents, second-fewest in the league.
The Rockets lead the league in rebounds allowed to its opponents (30.2), and also rank third in team defensive rebounds (25.5) and rebound margin (+6.9).
The Rockets' rebound margin is also 38th in Division I.
Patricia Anumgba is 12th from three-point range at 36.1% from the field. She is also 10th with 1.7 three-point field goals per game. Ella Weaver is 17th with 1.5 three-point makes per game.
Defensively, Anumgba is 10th in the league with 1.8 steals/game.
Kendall Carruthers is 15th in the MAC with 2.7 assists/game.
