Andrew Zock Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo defensive end Andrew Zock has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a career performance in the Rockets' 34-14 victory at Eastern Michigan, the MAC announced Monday.

Zock wreaked havoc in the Eastern Michigan offensive backfield, finishing with nine tackles, a career-high-tying two sacks, a career-high nine quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

Eastern Michigan's quarterbacks had 43 dropbacks, and Zock was in the backfield 11 times. In the first quarter, his forced fumble led to a Toledo field goal.

Zock ranks third nationally with seven sacks in 2026 and ninth with 10 tackles for loss.

This marks the fourth time a Toledo player has earned MAC Player of the Week honors this season, as Zock joins John Alan Richter, Bryson Hammer and CJ Miller.

The Rockets (5-2) return to the Glass Bowl on Saturday for a showdown with first-place and defending MAC champion Western Michigan. Kickoff is set for noon. The game will be broadcast nationally on the CBS Sports Network and can be heard on the Rocket Radio Network. Tickets are available at UTRockets.com/tickets.
