Toledo Takes First in Four Events But Falls to Bowling Green in Dual Meet

Janne Slegers picks up wins in two events on Senior Day
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team fell to Bowling Green, 227-124, in the Battle of I-75 sponsored by Fremont Federal Credit Union on Saturday morning..
Prior to the start of the meet, the Rockets recognized their three graduating seniors – Gracie Pardue, Paula Pavillard-Salvador and Janne Slegers.
Slegers had a strong outing in her final home meet, winning the 100 free with a mark of 50.32 and anchoring the 400 freestyle relay team as they won the event with a final time of 3:27.47.
Sophomores Rosie Richards and Kenzie Myco each picked up wins. Richards tallied a final time of 1:52.13 in the 200 free to take first while Myco touched the wall at 56.80 to win the 100 butterfly. Richards also took third in the 100 free (52.31).
Two freshmen earned top-three finishes in the 500 freestyle as Claire Kemmere placed second (5:03.06) and Lindsay Bright took third (5:09.50). Graduating senior Pavillard-Salvador tallied a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:06.83).
Combining Friday night's action with Saturday's results, the Rockets recorded 21 top-three finishes and four individual event titles.
