TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo baseball student-athlete
Troy Sudbrook has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's male student-athlete representative at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in the fall.
Â
At the forum, Sudbrook will partake in leadership and professional networking sessions, while gaining more knowledge on the NCAA and the role of its Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC). The program will allow each participant to explore how values and behavior shape their leadership styles and discuss current issues affecting student-athletes.
Â
Participants will have the opportunity to share ideas on improving campus, conference and national SAAC communication, examine divisional issues to improve student-athlete well-being and share their knowledge of the NCAA with other student-athletes.
Â
Sudbrook's selection to the forum stems from his involvement in SAAC at Toledo. He served as a general member in 2023-24 and 2024-25 and will serve as the organization's vice president in 2025-26. As VP, he serves as a MAC Council of Student-Athletes representative alongside Olivia Gang from women's track & field. Sudbrook is also interning with the MAC this summer, assisting the sports and championships and the institutional services departments.
Â
Each Division I conference office, including the MAC, nominated one male and one female student-athletes from each of their member schools, before selecting one female student-athlete and one male student-athlete to represent them. Selected student-athletes must have NCAA athletic eligibility in the 2025-26 academic year, be in good academic standing and demonstrate leadership ability or potential.
Â
Sudbrook is entering his senior year academically and will be redshirt junior on the baseball field. He earned several academic and athletic honors in 2025 including MAC Player of the Week, MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC. The Avon, Ohio native has played in 100 games over two seasons in Toledo, including all 61 games last season.
Â
The forum will be held Nov. 20-23 in Dallas, Texas. The forum was created in 1997 and has hosted over 5,000 student-athletes across NCAA Division I, II, and III.
