CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo freshman left fielder
Samantha Bolding was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Bolding led the Toledo offense with a .778 batting average after going 7-for-9 at the plate to secure the sweep over Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75. The freshman blasted four home runs in the series for a team-high 12 homers this season and help the team break the single-season home run record with 48 this year.
The Greenfield, Ind. native tallied a team-high 2.222 slugging percentage and leads the team with an overall mark of .656 during her freshman campaign. Bolding went a perfect 3-for-3 in Friday's series opener with two home runs and three RBIs. The freshman followed up with two homers during Saturday's doubleheader, including a walk-off solo shot in the 10
th inning during game one.
This is Bolding's first MAC honor of her career.
Toledo (10-12 MAC) is one game in the loss column behind sixth-place Northern Illinois for the sixth and final spot in the 2025 MAC Tournament. The Rockets face Kent State and Northern Illinois this week to conclude the regular season.
