TOLEDO, Ohio – Head coach Tod Kowalczyk announced Monday that 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard Mynor Strong (Omaha, Neb.) will transfer to the University of Toledo to join the Rockets' men's basketball program next season. Strong has three years of eligibility remaining after playing last season at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College.
"A huge goal in this portal class was to recruit high-character men from great families who are really skilled," Kowalczyk said. "We struck all three with Mynor. He comes from a tremendous family and is a high-character guy who can really shoot the ball and possesses good length. Mynor has a great upside and a chance to be a really good player for us."
A member of JUCORecruiting.com's Fab 50 JUCO Freshmen list, Strong averaged a team-high 15.8 ppg as well as 3.7 rpg and a team-best 2.9 apg last season for Dodge City. He also shot 38.9% from three-point range (75-of-193) for the Conquistadors and led the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference with 61 steals.
Strong is a 2024 graduate of Omaha North High School.
Strong is the fourth transfer the Rockets have added this spring, joining Rodney Johnson Jr. (Tennessee Tech), Austin Parks (Ohio State), and Kyler Vanderjagt (Central Michigan). Toledo also signed high-school recruits Leroy Blyden Jr. (Detroit, Mich.), Phoenix Glassnor (Port Huron, Mich.) Will James Jr. (Holly Springs, N.C.), Toby Nwokolo (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and London Praytor (Colorado Springs, Colo.) to National Letters of Intent last fall.
