Former Rocket Jayda Jansen to Continue Professional Basketball Career in Return to Australia

Jansen played on two MAC Championship teams, including 2023 NCAA Tournament squad

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's basketball alumna Jayda Jansen will continue playing professional basketball, recently signing a contract with Australian professional club Mount Gambier Pioneers.
 
Most recently, Jansen played for Noerdlingen in the Germany-DBBL league in 2024-25. She averaged 31.6 minutes, 11.6 points, 1.9 assists and 0.8 steals last season. She shot 42.6% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range last season. She competed against Toledo teammate Quinesha Lockett, who played for Rutronik Stars Keltern.
 
Prior to Germany, Jansen started her pro career in Finland with Forssan Alku before competing in the 2024 season with the Hobart Chargers in Australia's NBL1 South, where she averaged 18.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
 
In two seasons in a Rockets' uniform, Jansen scored 454 points, had 102 assists and 101 rebounds in 69 games. The guard made 142 field goals (40.7%), 72 threes (38.9%) and 98 free throws (82.4%). She was twice named Academic All-MAC.
 
Jansen was part of Rocket squads that secured the 2021-22 and 2022-23 MAC regular-season titles, the 2023 MAC Tournament championship and an NCAA Tournament first-round victory over Iowa State.
 
Mount Gambier Pioneers competes as part of the Australia NBL1 South, with Jansen competing in the league for the second-straight season. The league's recently-started 2025 season will continue through July 18.
