CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo third baseman
Troy Sudbrook was named the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week after a strong performance at the plate in the Central Virginia Classic, the league office announced on Wednesday.

The redshirt sophomore led the Rockets to a 2-1 week, which included wins over VCU and William & Mary. He hit .417 over the weekend, totaling five hits, five RBIs, three runs scored, a double, triple and a home run.

The Avon, Ohio native tied a career high in hits in Friday's 6-2 win over VCU. He hit 4-for-5 with three RBIs, a double and a triple. On Saturday, he set the tone in a 7-2 Rocket victory with a first-inning home run.

Sudbrook is double-majoring in finance and supply chain management and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. He earns the honor for the first time in his career.

The award is given weekly to student-athletes with at least a 3.0 overall GPA with a commendable performance in that week's athletic competitions.

Toledo swept the league's scholar-athlete of the week honors, with Laura Nicholson from women's track & field taking MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
