BOSTON // CHICAGO – Senior Laura Nicholson broke the school record in the mile run with a final time of 4:30.85 at the Eagle Elite Invitational at Boston College in Boston, Mass.

Nicholson bested the previous mile record that she had set in February 2024 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. This is the second school record Nicholson has recorded this season, breaking the program record for the 3000m in December 2024.

In Chicago, sophomore Lianna Surtz took eighth in the mile run with a time of 4:45.97, while senior Alex Bauer followed with an 11^th-place finish with a time of 4:48.51.

Toledo will wrap up competition on Saturday in Boston with events beginning at 10:40 a.m. at the Windy City Invite in Chicago starting at 1:00 p.m.
